Use a pause when a bill stops for a while, like a gym membership over the summer. Use an end when it stops for good, like a cancelled subscription. Both change only the plan in Figa: they do not cancel a contract with your provider.

Pause a series

  1. Open the bill, or find it in the Recurring expenses list.
  2. Select Pause and choose the First excluded occurrence.
  3. Choose when it comes back: a First resumed occurrence, or Until I resume manually.
  4. Select Review effect, check which occurrences change, then Confirm.

While paused, the series shows as Suspended and its occurrences leave the months ahead. A pause that starts later shows as Pause planned from a date; Cancel planned pause removes it.

Resume

Select Resume / change return and choose the first occurrence to bring back. You can enter a New amount from resume, for example when the price went up during the break, or leave it empty to keep the amounts you had.

If you pick a date in the past, Figa lists the occurrences that will return before you confirm.

End a series

Select End series and choose the Last allowed occurrence. Nothing is planned after it, and the series shows as Ended.

Ending is permanent

Resume cannot undo an end. If the bill might come back, pause it instead.

What Figa keeps

Pausing or ending never removes your history. Paid expenses and confirmed invoices are always kept. Other occurrences already stored in the paused range are kept by default; in the review step you can select the ones you consider only plans to exclude them.

Installment plans

A series with a set number of payments, created with After X occurrences, cannot be paused or ended. To leave out one payment, skip that occurrence. See Installments.
